Photo 2: There are a few compositional elements and principles that are present in this photo. I feel that there is a good use of line in this photo because of the clouds above the trees. These lines can also be considered to be leading lines because the clouds draw your eye towards the trees. This photo also shows shape because of the shape of the tree line. Technically, this photo shows an example of black and white versus color. I think that there was good natural light in this photo because it was sunny and clear out. I also believe that there is a good showing of contrast in this photo because of the sky against the trees. This makes the photo have a compelling subject matter and mood.
Photo 3: There are some compositional elements to this photo. I think that this photo represents a good sense of pattern through the bricks and tiles. The bricks and tiles also make good texture present in the photo. I think that this photo has good use of line and shape with the bricks. This photo has some good technical aspects, too. I think that there is a good use of black and white versus color. The focus in this photo is very good and I do not think that I could have done better with it. I also like the contrast shown in this photo with the bricks against the background. Some artistic strengths in this photo are mood and mystery, showing the new school against the fence of the old school. I do believe that this was an unexpected composition because the focus turned out great.

This photo show a good use of black and white versus color, too. There are also some technical aspects to this photo, as well. I think that there is a good portrayal of focus and lighting as well as the black and white versus the color. I also feel that there are some strong artistic features to this photo. This includes a compelling subject matter with the shape and orientation of the object as well as an interesting point of view. I feel also that I never meant for this photo to look this good.

Photo Essay
The subject of my photo essay is nature. I took these photos in my own backyard. I selected this topic because I feel that it is important to show nature and how beautiful it is. It is important to be appreciative of it. The concept that I am trying to portray about this topic is care and appreciation for nature. These images captured my narrative of this photo essay by showing how pretty it is and with this trying to get people to appreciate it more. I arranged these photos almost like a garden to draw peoples' eyes. I tried to take these photos from interesting viewpoints and angles like in the two dandelions. I chose to take these photos in the late spring afternoon so the light would look nice. I chose to put these photos in color in order to show the vibrant and various colors of the flowers, trees, grass, and leaves. For a few of these photos I used leading lines like in the fourth photo with the petals leading up to the flowers. I visually unified this series of photos to make it look like a backyard garden.
