Best Photo
This is the best photo I have taken over this past summer. My sister was playing basketball and there was a nice sunset. I decided to combine the two activities to make an action/sunset photo mixed. I like both types of photography so that's what I did. The element and principles of design that apply to this photo are color, unity, and emphasis. Color is an element of design in this photo because of the orange and blue colliding together in the sky very well. There is unity between the basketball, moon, and sun. Emphasis also applies because the ball and the hoop are in front of the sun and the moon. This photo is important to me because it combines my two favorite types of photography. I feel that it came out really well. However, if I could recreate the picture, I would try to incorporate more elements and principles of design into it.

I took the middle photograph at about four o'clock in the afternoon.
Where was the light you photographed?
The light I photographed was coming into my living room through the window shades and landed on a chair.
Describe the composition of your photograph.
My photo has my chair in my living room with the shaped light beams from the sun landing on the wall and the top of the chair.
Were there shadows that accompanied the light?
Yes, there are some shadows of the window shades next to the light beams on the wall.
What feeling or mood does the light in your composition suggest?
My composition gives off a feeling or mood of the passage of time with the light beams shifted to one side of the composition to create a sense of movement across the picture.
